F&M announces seven promotions

SALISBURY — F&M Bank announced the promotion of seven employees of the company to senior positions on Friday.
Lori Huie has been promoted from a senior retail banking officer position to senior vice president.
“In her role as senior retail banking officer, Lori is a respected banker with a wealth of knowledge that’s evident in her passion for relationship building and talent development,” said F&M Bank Chairman and CEO Steve Fisher. “Throughout her 18 years with the bank, Lori has been instrumental in building F&M Bank’s retail presence and success in the markets we serve.”
A lifelong Concord native, Huie serves the community through the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County, Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network, Cabarrus Arts Council, Cabarrus Chamber of Commerce and Explore Cabarrus. Huie is also a contributing member of F&M Bank’s Management Committee, Product and Services Solutions Committee and Community & Corporate Responsibility Committee.
Both Rob Miller and Nick Means have been promoted to the position of community banking officer and vice president.
A lifelong resident of Rowan County, Miller is treasurer and board member of Meals on Wheels of Rowan County, as well as a member of the Granite Quarry Revitalization Committee. “F&M Bank is truly a ‘community bank’ as we strive to make this community a better place to both live and work,” said Miller. “Working here is a rewarding experience.”
In their new roles, both Miller and Means will develop new business through relationship building and community engagement throughout Salisbury and Rowan County. Miller will continue to lead our retail and small business banking opportunities in eastern Rowan County out of the Granite Quarry office. Means will lead the small business development efforts in Salisbury and fulfill his role with Training and Development at the F&M Financial Center in Downtown Salisbury.

Honored as an Elizabeth Duncan Koontz Humanitarian of the Year, Means gives back to the community as a member of the American Bankers Association’s Black Bankers Employee Resource Group, chairman of the Rowan County Leadership Rowan Steering Committee, co-chair of Youth Leadership Rowan, treasurer of the Blanche and Julian Robertson Family Foundation, member of Rowan County Youth Services Bureau, treasurer of Next Generation Academy and a member of the Catawba College Board of Trustees.
In her new role as senior operations officer and senior vice president, Laura Osborne will lead F&M Bank’s newly established Operations Services department. A Salisbury native, Osborne has contributed significantly not only to F&M Bank, but also to our community as treasurer on the board of directors for Rowan Vocational Opportunities. Osborne has dedicated 25 years to F&M Bank clients, and her service has earned her both the Carlyn E. Bernhardt Whatever It Takes Award and the Ellis W. Cauble Outstanding Service Quality for Internal Service Award.
With three decades of experience serving F&M Bank, Jim Hartsell will now serve as senior information technology officer and senior vice president. F&M Bank has also recognized Hartsell’s exceptional service with the Whatever It Takes Award and the Internal Service Quality Award. Born and raised in Stanly County, Hartsell gives back to the community as a baseball coach for recreational teams, middle and high school teams, as well as Legion Baseball teams.
Recently promoted from assistant vice president to vice president, the deposit services officer, Charity Skipper has a passion for solving problems, building lasting relationships and helping clients utilize the bank’s digital solutions. A Randolph County native, Skipper is loyal to the F&M Bank tradition of community service through her involvement with her local church.
Also promoted from assistant vice president to vice president, the information security officer, Cynthia M. Waitkus-Kolbasowski has worked with F&M Bank for 24 years. Her approach to client care has earned her the Internal Service Quality Award and the Virginia Hedrick Memorial Award.
