Livingstone Concert Choir will perform at the 39th International Festival Jazz Plaza in Cuba

SALISBURY — The Livingstone Concert Choir has received an exclusive invitation from the National Center of Popular Music and the Cuban Institute of Music to perform at the prestigious 39th International Festival Jazz Plaza in Havana and Santiago de Cuba. The festival is scheduled from Jan. 24-28..
“The Livingstone College Concert Choir is excited and honored at the invitation from the National Center of Popular Music and the Cuban Institute of Music to perform at the International Festival Jazz Plaza in January of 2024,” Choir Director Dr. Kody Wallace said. “This invitation serves as a recognition of the work ethic and music excellence displayed by the outstanding students of Livingstone College, and we are eager to represent our school, our state and our nation.”
“This is an incredible opportunity for our students to broaden their experience and participate in cultural exchange,” Music Department Chair Dr. Lawrence Quinnett said. “As musical ambassadors of our college and nation, many of our students will reckon this as their first international performance. I am confident it will be the first of many.”
Livingstone College welcomes support from the community to ensure the success of the Livingstone Concert Choir’s international debut. Donations and sponsorships are appreciated to cover travel expenses and contribute to this extraordinary cultural exchange.
