The United Ministerial Alliance of Salisbury Rowan County will be honoring the Life and Legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Sunday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m. 

The event will take place at Tower of Power United Holy Church, 601 East Cemetery St. in Salisbury.

Bishop Ronald Hash is the president of the Ministerial Alliance and Rev. Anthony L. Williams is the host pastor.

The guest preacher is Rev. Dr. Calvin Luther Miller.

Miller is involved in both church and community activities. He serves as chairman of the Board of Christian Education, Western North Carolina Conference and Piedmont Episcopal District; former Charlotte District director of Christian Education; Budget and Finance Committee; Trustee Board of Walls-Battle Conference and Retreat Center; Christian Minister’s Fellowship Association; Rules and Local Preachers Committee; Presiding Elder’s Appreciation Reception, Presiding Elder’s Council, Admissions Committee, Credentials Committee, chairman of the Holy Orders Committee, chairman of the Western N.C. Conference Evangelism Committee, Nomination Committee and Rules Committee.

He is married to the Rev. Dr. Karen Roberts Miller. They have two daughters, Pamela Miller Mack (John Sr.) and the late Jacqueline Miller Wilson.
