ATLANTA (AP) — Cameron Hildreth scored 17 points, Andrew Carr recorded a double-double and Wake Forest wrapped it up early, smothering Georgia Tech 80-51 on Tuesday night.

Wake Forest (15-7, 7-4 ACC) has won consecutive games — both by 29 points — after beating Syracuse 99-70 on Saturday.

Carr had 13 points and 10 rebounds, Kevin Miller also scored 13, reserve Damari Monsanto had 11 points and Hunter Sallis and Efton Reid III added 10 apiece for the Demon Deacons.

Baye Ndongo scored 14 points and Naithan George 12 for the Yellow Jackets (10-13, 3-9), who shot 28.3% (17 for 60) from the field including 12.5% (3 for 24) from 3-point range.

Kowacie Reeves Jr.’s lone points of the game occurred 59 seconds in when he buried a 3-pointer, serving as Georgia Tech’s only lead of the game. The Demon Deacons proceeded to go on a 23-0 run while Wake Forest missed 23 of its first 24-shot attempts.

After a 46-20 halftime lead, the Demon Deacons went so far as to build a 38-point lead (70-32) with 7:27 remaining. Wake Forest’s extending defense played a key role as Georgia Tech only scored eight points in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Wake Forest will try to continue its surging trend when it hosts North Carolina State on Saturday.

Georgia Tech, which has lost two straight and five of six, will try to get right when it travels to Louisville on Saturday.
