High school girls basketball: Five Falcons on All-SPC team

Runner-up Northwest Cabarrus received the accolades for South Piedmont Conference Player of the Year and Coach of the Year for girls basketball.
NWC guard Re’Ale Walton was voted SPC Player of the Year by the league’s coaches, while Jarmaine Spruill was voted the top coach by his peers.
Eight Rowan girls made the All-South Piedmont Conference team, including five from the West Rowan team that was undefeated in the conference and won the 3A state championship.
All-South Piedmont Conference:
West Rowan – Lauren Arnold, Tiara Thompson, Emma Clarke, Mya Edwards, De’Mya Phifer
East Rowan — Mary Church, Hannah Waddell
South Rowan — Kynlee Dextraze
NW Cabarrus — Re’Ale Walton, Mackenzie Ortscheid
Robinson — Camri Hobbs, Li’Ara Batts
Central Cabarrus – Kyra Lewis, Jahnae Duncan
Concord — Myajah Nix
