High school baseball roundup: Cougars win; losses for Wonders, Hornets, Raiders

CONCORD — Jayven Parks smacked two home runs as Carson battered Central Cabarrus 8-0 in a South Piedmont Conference game on Tuesday.
Parks had three hits and three RBIs. The homers were his first and the team’s first of the season.
Daxton Savage had a great night on the mound with 11 strikeouts in six innings. He allowed two hits. Gage Trexler pitched the seventh.
Caden Lewis and Corbin Hales had two hits for the Cougars.
Carson (6-1, 5-1) finished a season sweep of the Vikings (0-7, 0-6).

MOORESVILLE — Lake Norman (5-4, 2-1) scored in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings and beat A.L. Brown 7-6 in the eighth in a Greater Metro Conference game played on Tuesday.
The Wonders (3-4, 0-3) got two hits from Mason Teal and some good pitching by Drew Ryan, Matthew Blume and CJ Gray.

TYRO — West Davidson rolled over Salisbury 13-1 in a Central Carolina Conference game played on Tuesday.
Thomas Hester pitched a complete game for the Green Dragons. He struck out eight and limited the Hornets to three hits.
Trent Lowe knocked in three runs for the Green Dragons (8-1, 3-0) with a pair of hits.
Salisbury coach Carson Herndon found some positives after a rough night against the team to beat in the CCC.
Jaylin Graham-Taylor made several good plays in right field. He had one of the Hornets’ hits and stole a base,
Cole Price had a double. Hank Webb also had a hit for the Hornets (1-4, 1-2).

CONCORD – Robinson scored nine runs in the second inning and held on to beat South Rowan 10-8 in a South Piedmont Conference game played on Tuesday.
Logan Ballard, Aaron Jones and Colton Helms pitched for the Raiders (3-4, 2-4)., who put together a four-run fourth inning.
Ballard, Marshal Faw and Conner Coy were the leading hitters for South. The Raiders out-hit the Bulldogs 10-8.
Wade Turner had three hits for Robinson (5-4, 3-3).
