High school softball roundup: Raiders, Hornets win big; losses for North, Carson, Wonders

CONCORD — South Rowan’s Eva Shue pitched a one-hitter as the Raiders pounded Robinson on Tuesday in a South Piedmont Conference game.
Shue struck out six and walked four. Robinson didn’t score until the bottom of the seventh.
Robinson (3-5, 1-5) had a rough night in the field and made 11 errors, but the game went seven innings.
South took a 9-0 lead to the seventh. South had a three-run third, a five-run fifth and a four-run seventh.
Shue, Avery Fisher and Ava Daniel had two hits each. Campbell Withers had two RBIs.
Kynlee Dextraze homered for the Raiders (3-5-1, 3-3) and drove in two.

SALISBURY — Salisbury took advantage of 15 walks and four hit batsmen to pummel South Davidson 15-0 in a Central Carolina Conference game played on Tuesday.
Katie Peeler pitched a no-hitter in the four-inning game. She struck out five Wildcats (3-2, 1-1) and walked one.
Allie Peeler had two hits. She had a double and four RBIs.
Ashley Yang scored three runs and had two RBIs for the Hornets (3-3, 3-1).
Katie Peeler and Emma Blackwell had two hits. Emma Starkweather had two RBIs. Taliyah McCombs scored two runs.

CONCORD — A.L. Brown lost 9-6 to Cox Mill in Greater Metro Conference action on Tuesday.
Marynda Blackwelder had four hits for the Wonders (0-5, 0-2). Myla McNeely had three hits. Karma Little had two RBIs.
Cox Mill (2-2, 2-1) took an 8-0 lead after two innings and was able to hang on.

THOMASVILLE — Sophie Hampton hit a home run and Kirsten Hedrick pitched a three-inning no-hitter with nine strikeouts to lead East Davidson (5-3, 3-0) to an 18-0 Central Carolina Conference win against North Rowan (0-2, 0-2) on Tuesday.
