SALISBURY — Milford Hills United Methodist Church is pleased to announce a unique  and thought-provoking event, a public Stations of the Cross Walk featuring illustrations created by  Tennessee men on death row. This event will occur from March 24 through April 7 at Milford Hills United Methodist Church, located at 1630 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury.

The Stations of the Cross, a centuries-old Christian tradition commemorating Jesus Christ’s journey to crucifixion, will be brought to life through a series of illustrations crafted by men incarcerated on death row in Tennessee, some of whom have already been executed. The artworks offer a perspective on suffering, redemption and hope that is both powerful and profoundly moving.

“We are honored to host this special event that invites our community to reflect on the deep themes of  sacrifice, forgiveness and grace,” Pastor Jim Parsons said. “It stirs your soul to follow Jesus to his death through images of people who are also condemned to die. We hope this will foster a time of contemplation, reflection and conversation as we enter Holy Week and the week after Easter Sunday.”

All members of the community are invited to participate in this Stations of the Cross Walk, which will offer an opportunity for reflection and spiritual renewal. The outdoor walk starts at the stairs that lead down to the playground located just off of our main parking lot. We hope this will be an experience to stir the soul and reflect deeply on God’s love for all of humanity.
