SALISBURY — In recognition of Financial Awareness Month, the Reach Church is hosting a free financial summit on April 13.
The event is described as a one-of-a-kind masterclass designed to equip the community with the tools, strategies and insights needed to thrive in today’s complex financial landscape.
According to a release from the event organizers, the summit is intended for a gamut of possible business entities such as: the budding entrepreneurs, the veteran business owner whose business just isn’t set up properly to scale, or for those who simply want to make smarter money decisions.
The event speakers are seasoned entrepreneurs and it promises to be a game-changer for anyone looking to build wealth, secure their future and live life on their own terms.
The speakers
Kevii Newbold, owner of BOLD Consulting Agency
She has a combined 9 years of administrative and operations experience. In 2022, she started her own company, B.O.L.D Consulting Agency. She has a passion for helping small-to-medium business owners get into the F.L.O.W. (focus, locate, organize and work) of their business to relieve them of operational struggles.
Shavonne Potts is owner of The Money Magnet Financial Coaching Services
She teaches beginners how to manage their money through budgeting, creating new money habits and debt elimination in order to live the life they desire. She has lived in Salisbury for 18 years and is a former newspaper reporter and currently a Rowan County magistrate. She benefited from the help of a finance coach and has since made it her mission to help as many people learn better money habits in order to spread knowledge and pass on generational wealth.
Tinisha Springs is the owner of REMEDY Insurance & Financial/Tinisha Springs Financial Solutions
She is a native of South Carolina and has been in the insurance industry for 15 years. Springs found her purpose/calling in helping others with their insurance and estate/retirement planning needs. She believes it’s so much more than a job — it’s a ministry of faith, finances and blessing.
Those women will focus on personal finance tips to retirement planning, estate management and business scalability. The event is an opportunity for others to learn from their years of experience in the trenches, as they share practical advice, actionable insights and real-life stories that will inspire and empower attendees to take the next steps towards financial freedom.
Potts came up with the idea while working with her latest client, who inspired her to find a way to reach more people with not only her knowledge of personal finance but through other financial resources.
“I asked my pastor (Apostle Bradley Taylor) if this was an event the church could host for free and he agreed to let me plan it,” Potts said.
Taylor added, “I am very pleased and proud to be able to offer a financial literacy event for our congregants and the community at-large. I believe that ministry should be holistic and it is our desire at The Reach Church to help people evolve in every aspect of their lives. And one of the main pillars for success and quality of life is financial freedom and financial literacy. So I believe this workshop as well as other events like this, play a vital role in creating that stability in the family dynamic. It is my pleasure for The Reach Church to play a part in providing this opportunity to our community.
Potts indicated that it was important for them not to charge.
“I’ve seen events like this command ticket prices of hundreds or even thousands and I didn’t want there to be any reason for someone who would love to attend an event like this to not get the opportunity,” Potts said. “It was also important for this to be a church-sponsored event. As believers, we’re called to manage our resources wisely, knowing that God wants us to thrive. It’s not just about personal gain; it’s about using our blessings to make a difference. Whether it’s through supporting causes close to our hearts, helping those in need, or investing in projects that align with God’s values, through events like this we have the chance to uplift His Kingdom.”
The event starts at 11 a.m. The doors open at 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 722 W. Horah St. in Salisbury.
