High school girls soccer: Hornets win vs. North Rowan

SALISBURY — Salisbury had six different goal-scorers in a 6-0 Central Carolina Conference win against North Rowan on Wednesday.
The Hornets (6-2-1, 4-1) got goals from Addie Griffith, Stella Koontz, Maddie Crabb, Liz Escobar-Leiva, Cora Wymbs and Jamilet Figeueroa.
Defenders Wymbs and Koontz scored their first goals of the season. Escobar-Leiva, a junior new to the program, scored her first career goal.
Wymbs had two assists. Figueroa and Stephany Quintero also had helpers.
Taylor Brown was credited with the shutout in goal.
“Addie Griffith played a fantastic match, played on all three levels and was unselfish, determined and consistent,” Salisbury coach Matt Parrish said. “Freshman Emma Ott continued to play well in the back, allowing more versatility. Freshman Luna Nunez Velazquez played minutes on the back line and was very coachable and team oriented.”
The Hornets led the Cavaliers (0-11, 0-5) 3-0 at the break.
Salisbury plays at Thomasville on Monday. The Randleman match has been postponed to a later date.
