Choices
If our government can legislate a woman’s choice to abort her unborn child, then the same legislature must legislate the choice for a gun owner to own a gun.
In North Carolina, operators of a “moped” do not need a license to operate it, but must carry liability insurance of $30,000, $60,000 and $25,000 property damage to “cover the accidents” that happen with owning a moped.
Each gun owner should be required to carry liability insurance to cover the “accidents” that happen with owning a gun. A rider on your homeowner’s or renters’ policy would suffice.
If your insurance agent will write you a policy on owning an AR-15 with bump stocks and unlimited magazine, then your right to carry has not been violated.
Then, when a gun owner goes to purchase ammunition, they will be asked for the policy number of their liability insurance to purchase it.
This simple legislation would then severely limit the “illegal” guns being carried in North Carolina and people taking the lives of others in their own hands.
