Staff report
Former Carson star Owen White is back in the major leagues with the Texas Rangers.
White isn’t expected to start any games for the Rangers, but he was recalled to the majors on Friday for bullpen depth prior to the series with the Braves in Atlanta.
White didn’t have a great Spring Training, had experienced a drop in velocity, and had continued to struggle so far this season with the Triple-A Round Rock Express.
White made three starts for the Express, worked four innings in each outing. He had an 0-2 record with a 7.30 ERA.
Starting Tuesday. Texas has a nine-game home stand coming up against Seattle, Cincinnatti and Washington, and White is likely to get some opportunities to pitch.
White, a 24-year-old right-hander, pitched in two games for Texas last season.
