College women’s track and field: Lowery wins two events in USA South Championships

CONCORD — South Rowan graduate Madison Lowery won two events and led Pfeiffer to a second-place finish in the USA South Championships held on Friday at Robinson High.
Lowery won the 5,000 meters (18:26) and 10,000 meters (39:07).
Pfeiffer’s Maddie Hladik won the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
Pfeiffer’s women finished second to Southern Virginia.
Makayla Borst (Carson) was second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
Hayley Borst (Carson) was fourth in the 10,000 meters.
Katelyn Lentz (West Rowan) was fourth in the 400 meters in 1:00.64.
Elizabeth Jones (North Hills) took third place in the hammer throw for the Falcons.
