KANNAPOLIS — At the 10^th Anniversary of the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival, more than 400 visitors came out in the rain to taste and judge some of the best pork in the United States.

Prepared by the top Kansas City Barbeque Society Teams, the competition was serious business as people carefully tasted the many unique flavors and spices used to cook the pork. Thank you to everyone who braved the bad weather. Proceeds from ticket sales will be distributed to Kannapolis area non-profits.

Below are the Top 10 Winners of the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, given to the teams with the most votes:

• 4th Place — Rooters-N-Tooters of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee

• 6th Place — Fred Vegas Smokers of Ravenel, S.C.

• 7th Place — Good Googly Goo BBQ of Baltimore, Maryland

• 8th Place — Hickory Barbeque Company of Shelby

• 9th Place — Hambones by the Fire of Walton Hills, Ohio

• 10th Place — Creekside Smokers N.C. of Hickory
