Blotter: Shots fired after argument over speed on gravel road

SALISBURY — A deliver driver reported a shooting while attempting to make a delivery in Salisbury on Wednesday.
According to reports with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the driver was confronted by residents in the 700 block of East Bend Lane in Salisbury about his speed on the gravel road.
During the ensuing argument, a female reportedly fired a gun about three to four meters away from the delivery driver.
The victim declined to press charges, saying he just wanted to make law enforcement aware of what happened.
In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports
• A report of carrying a concealed gun was taken on Woodland Creek Drive in Salisbury on May 8.
• Vandalism causing damage to property reportedly occurred on Mt. Hope Church Road in Salisbury between 11 p.m. on May 7 and 2:33 p.m. on May 8.
• A larceny from a building reportedly occurred on Susan Lane in Salisbury between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on May 8.
• John Henry Smith, 35, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in MDMA on May 8.
• James Darrell Walton, 53, was charged with failure to appear, possession of schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on May 8.
In Salisbury Police reports
• A bicycle was reportedly stole in the 600 block of Brownrigg Road in Salisbury between 3-6:30 a.m. on May 9. The total estimated loss was $200.
• Shoplifting reportedly occurred in the 200 block of South Main Street in Salisbury between 12:50-12:52 p.m. on May 9. The total estimated loss was $24.
• Shoplifting reportedly occurred in the 300 block of South Arlington Street in Salisbury between 5:20-5:24 p.m. on May 9. The total estimated loss was $126.
• Frederick Andrew Hargon, 31, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon on May 9.
• Isaiah Romeo Phillips, 23, was charged with impaired driving on May 9.
• Nicholas Antoine Houston, 41, was charged with obtaining property by false pretense on May 9.
