College softball: Pfeiffer still alive in regional, will have to win two on Saturday to advance

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Pfeiffer’s softball team won another elimination game on Friday night and is still alive in the D-III Newport News Regional hosted by Christopher Newport.
Pfeiffer lost Thursday, but rebounded to win twice on Friday and stayed afloat in the double-elimination event.
On Friday night, Pfeiffer recorded a 10-3 win against Ramapo, the New Jersey school that beat the Falcons on Thursday.
Mooresville grad Kali Morton pitched both of Friday’s wins. She’s 25-1. Pfeiffer owns a USA Suth record 45 wins.
Pfeiffer swung the bats again. Emma Chopko had another huge game, with four hits and three RBIs. Kenzi Lyall had three hits and scored four runs.
Kyler Perdue had three hits and scored three times. Gracie Griffin drove in three.
Pfeiffer plays Christopher Newport on Saturday at 11 a.m. in a championship game. Pfeiffer will have to beat Christopher Newport twice to advance.
