SALISBURY — Police are investigating after a man was stabbed early on Saturday morning, causing a severe laceration to his leg.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, when the victim and a few friends were walking through the Family Dollar parking lot on East Innes Street, said Sergeant Justin Crotty, a spokesperson for the Salisbury Police Department. They were allegedly confronted by an unidentified man in the parking lot, who began arguing with them and acting erratically.
The man, who appeared to be a Hispanic male in his 40s, continued arguing with the victim until the victim pushed him, said Crotty. The unidentified man then allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the leg, causing a severe laceration.
The victim’s friends then helped the man wrap the wound before taking him to the hospital.
Officers were notified of the stabbing and responded to the hospital at approximately 2 p.m., said Crotty.
