Tracy Bradshaw Calfee was inducted into North Carolina Bowling Hall of Fame in ceremonies held in Mebane on Saturday.

Calfee started bowling when she was 8. She’s never bowled a perfect game (300), but she has bowled 289s.

The South Rowan graduate traveled all over the world in the military and retired after years of service in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. She lives in East Flat Rock, N.C., and does most of her bowling in Asheville. She bowls in leagues and tournaments.

Calfee is rated as one of the top senior women’s bowlers in the country and has represented the USA in international competition.

A 1986 South Rowan graduate, Calfee played college basketball for UNC Wilmington. She graduated from UNCW with a criminal justice degree in 1990.

While her favorite sport always was basketball, her best high school sport was track and field. She went to UNC Wilmington on a cross country scholarship.

In the 1986 Rowan County Track and Field Championships, Calfee led the Raiders to a team victory. She won the 1600 and 3200, placed second in the 800 and ran the anchor leg on the second-place 4×800 team.

In high school, Calfee was clocked in 2:27 in the 800; 5:24 in the 1600 and 11:44 in the 3200. All those times rank among the best in county history.
