Scholarships presented to six students

SALISBURY — The Link/Glover/McCombs scholarships were given on Father’s Day, June 16, at Bethel Lutheran Church on East Ridge Road, Salisbury.
This was the 39th year the scholarships have been presented with 159 scholarships being given to 53 different students since it began. Six scholarships were presented in 2024. Local recipients were:
Dominick Crowell, who had a 3.6 GPA and is a senior at USC Bluffton working toward a bachelor’s degree in information science and technology.
Isabella Crowell, who had a 3.6 GPA and is a recent graduate of Beaufort High School and will be attending USC Bluffton studying the nursing program
Kegan Crowell, who had a 3.5 GPA and is working toward his master’s degree at Newberry College in sports medicine and leadership.
Brooke Kennerly, a West Rowan graduate, who had a 3.4 GPA, will be starting her second year at Appalachian State University. She is a member of the varsity softball team studying for a communication degree.
Carla Stiller, a West Rowan graduate, who had a 3.4 GPA, is starting her senior year at Appalachian State University, studying in the Walker College of Business. She is on the club volleyball team.
Madelyn VonCanon, a West Rowan graduate, will be starting her second year at Appalachian State University and is studying for a degree in communications. She was on the dean’s list with a 3.6 GPA.
