SALISBURY — Police are investigating after a family reported that someone fired shots into the window of an occupied bedroom on Tuesday.

Police were called to a home in the 1400 block of Tilman Street just after midnight on Tuesday in reference to shots being fired, said Sergeant Justin Crotty, a spokesperson for the Salisbury Police Department.

When they arrived on scene, officers reportedly spoke with the homeowner, who told them that he had been in the living room of the house when he heard a loud noise. His son, however, had been in his bedroom and said that he had heard multiple gunshots and that some of those gunshots had gone through his window into the home, said Crotty.

Officers searched the area and found 16 shell casings in the backyard, said Crotty. They also reportedly confirmed that there were multiple bullet holes in the bedroom windows. Crotty said that no one nearby saw anything concrete and that there did not appear to have been any security cameras in the area.
