Catawba College Students Shine at 2024 FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference

SALISBURY — Catawba College’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter made an impact at the 2024 Collegiate National Leadership Conference (NLC) held from June 24 to 27 in Orlando, Florida. Attendees included FBLA members Emma Nantz, Cason Gardner, Hannia Luna and Robert Johnson, accompanied by their FBLA advisor, Angelia Bates.

Highlighting the achievements of Catawba College’s delegation, Cason Gardner earned first place in the sports Management and Marketing competition, demonstrating outstanding expertise and skill in his field. Gardner’s victory reflects the high level of dedication and talent within the Catawba College FBLA chapter.

“We are incredibly proud of Cason Gardner for his exceptional performance and for representing our college with distinction,” Bates said.

The 2024 FBLA Collegiate NLC featured a diverse array of events, including competitive challenges, keynote speeches, workshops and networking opportunities aimed at enhancing the professional development of aspiring business leaders. Participants engaged in activities designed to cultivate leadership skills, promote ethical business practices and foster a spirit of community service.

Expressed her pride in the students’ accomplishments, Bates said, “Attending the NLC provides our students with invaluable experiences that prepare them for future careers in business. The dedication and enthusiasm of Emma, Cason, Hannia and Robert were evident throughout the conference, and I am thrilled to see them excel on such a significant platform.”

Catawba’s FBLA members benefited from the support of the broader FBLA-PBL community, including major corporate sponsors, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations, all of which contributed to the event’s success.
