SALISBURY — Catawba College’s Maddux Holshouser of Salisbury has been named to the 2024 Next Gen Leaders (NGL) cohort by the White House Historical Society. The NGL is a group of influential young professionals representing a wide variety of fields, bound together by a passion for history, civics and education.

Holshouser, a Catawba class of 2022 alumnus and collegiate athlete, has established himself as a trailblazer in higher education. Throughout his baseball career, Holshouser developed strong relationships with alumni, donors, and college administrators, recognizing the importance of philanthropy in supporting robust athletic programs and innovative academic initiatives. Inspired by his own experiences as a student-athlete, he became passionate about giving back to his college and ensuring future generations of students had access to similar opportunities.

After receiving his MBA, Holshouser joined Catawba’s Advancement Office as the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement, focused on strengthening the philanthropic culture. Through strategic engagement efforts, he has built a foundation that fosters a more cohesive and vibrant alumni network aimed at increasing Catawba’s prosperity and ensuring a profound legacy.
