Kannapolis PD seeks individual believed to have details on July 16 homicide

KANNAPOLIS — Last week, a Salisbury teen was shot and killed in Kannapolis. On Monday, a release from the city indicated that they may have zeroed in on a person of interest, based on a now-deleted social media account.
“Kannapolis Police are requesting your assistance in identifying this person,” Kannapolis Communications Director Annette Keller said in a Monday email. “He may have details regarding a homicide that occurred in the city last week. The photo was posted to a Instagram social media account with the name, “darichestyoungin_”.”
According to Keller, the account has since been deactivated by the account user.
The shooting that claimed Damien Carter Senesaynho’s life occurred on July 16 at approximately 11:45 p.m.
Kannapolis Police responded to the 600 block of Caribbean Court in reference to shots fired in the area. Upon their arrival, officers found Senesaynho deceased at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
Another victim, who remains unidentified, was transported by Cabarrus County EMS to Atrium Health Cabarrus for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
No suspects are in custody at this time.
