The success of West Rowan girls basketball coach Ashley Poole and North Rowan boys basketball coach Jason Causby hasn’t gone unnoticed.

The N.C. Coaches Association announced coaches for the 2025 all-star games, and Poole and Causby are on the list. Both will be assistant coaches for the West squads in the East-West All-Star Game.

Poole’s West Rowan girls teams have won back-to-back 3A state championships. Poole has a record of 206-81 at West in 11 seasons.

Causby has coached at three Rowan schools — Salisbury, North Hills and North Rowan. He has a record of 273-175 as a head coach in Rowan, including 102-51 at North Rowan. He’s been a head coach for 17 seasons in the county and for six seasons at North.

Poole is a Salisbury graduate, while Causby is a graduate of West Rowan.

The date for the East-West All-Star basketball games in Greensboro is July 21.

Another notable coaching selection was Brian Hinson, who will serve as one of the West assistants for the East-West All-Star Game in December 2025. The Catawba graduate was a head coach at East Rowan and Salisbury and led the Hornets to a state title in the 2020 COVID-delayed season that was played early in 2021. He’s now the head coach at West Cabarrus.

JK Adkins, a former Salisbury assistant during Joe Pinyan’s coaching tenure and now the coach at Freedom, will be the head coach of the West squad.

Jennifer Baker, who was a young assistant coach for A.L. Brown’s girls basketball team, has coached strong teams at North Meck and was named as the assistant coach for the North Carolina team that will play in the Carolinas Classic All-Star Game next March.
