LANDIS — A repaving project set to take place this week in Landis was pushed back to next week due to weather forecasts of inclement conditions.
The project, originally planned to take place on Thursday and Friday, will now begin on Monday and is described by the town as North Carolina Department of Transportation maintenance.
During the project, which involves milling 2.5 inches and repaving East Ryder Ave. between Hwy. 29 and Chapel Street with new asphalt, a detour route will go into effect.
“We anticipate that the work will take two working days,” town officials indicated on Facebook. “During the projected two days of work, the road will be closed each day starting at 7:30 a.m. and reopening at 5 p.m.”
The detour route will require motorists to use North Chapel Street to Coach Deal Road to Hwy. 29.
“We appreciate your patience as the road work is being completed,” the post said. “If you have any questions, please call Town Hall at 704-857-2411.”
