DENTON — Project Santa, Inc. received $2,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help nourish neighbors experiencing hunger. The Feeding the Hungry grant supports community feeding partners, including in nearby eastern Rowan County, by helping neighbors increase their access to nutritious food and providing nutrition education to eliminate health risks for those experiencing food insecurity.

“Project Santa, Inc. has been so blessed to partner with Food Lion, the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, and its thousands of employees associates to address hunger in the communities of Davidson and Eastern Rowan counties,” said Keith Garner of the organization. “Project Santa, Inc. is so grateful for the 24-year relationship with Food Lion as we work together to provide food for less fortunate children and families that face hunger every day in these communities.

“Providing food to those in need throughout the year is a key mission of Project Santa, Inc., and its volunteers. Food Lion’s support through this grant of $2,000 will be instrumental in achieving that mission.”

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $18.9 million in grants.
