Rowan County Sheriffs Office reports
• Deputies responded to a report of shots fired into a house at 10:30 p.m. July 30. According to reports, the landlord of a residence on Eldon Lane said he was watching television in his living room when two tenants told him to “get down.” He heard shots and told deputies a bullet bounced around his living room. He pointed out new bullet holes in the walls, and deputies recovered shell casings from the street and from the side of the front steps. No one was injured and there are no suspects at this time.
• Daniel Jonathan Houle, 47, was arrested July 31 and charged with assault on a female after deputies initially responded to a report of an assault with a gun just after 10 p.m. July 30. The victim told deputies her boyfriend had thrown her gun at her when she was in her car trying to leave, hitting her in the face and causing injury. Houle was held without bond for a court appearance Thursday.
