ROWAN COUNTY — Tonight will mark the first event in a series of movie nights resulting from a partnership between the three east Rowan County municipalities and the East Rowan Branch YMCA.

The event, which is planned for every weekend in August, will be hosted at the Saleeby-Fisher YMCA, located at 790 Crescent Road, Rockwell. The events will be on every Friday night from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., except for one weekend that is set for Saturday, Aug. 17. 

Tonight’s movie will be “The Sandlot”, the Aug. 9 film will be “Toy Story”, the Aug. 17 showing will be “Cars”, and the Aug. 23 and Aug. 30 movies have yet to be announced.

Food trucks will be available on-site and participants are encouraged to bring their blankets or chairs. Pets are not allowed.
