National Night Out schedules change due to forecasted rain

ROWAN COUNTY — A number of local National Night Out celebrations, originally scheduled for Aug. 6, are being rescheduled due to the rain forecasted for the day.
Salisbury is postponing until Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. at Bell Tower Green.
The event in Kannapolis will now be held from 5-7 p.m., on Oct. 1 at Veterans Park, 119 N. Main Street.
The Landis iteration of the event will be moved to Oct. 1 and will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the South Rowan YMCA, located at 950 Kimball Road.
The town of Rockwell stated in a Facebook post that their event is still on the schedule for Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m., but said that town officials are currently keeping an eye on the weather forecast. Any changes to the event will be posted on the town’s Facebook page.
Spencer rescheduled their event for Oct. 1, at the same time and location as originally scheduled.
Officials from both Cleveland and Granite Quarry stated that their events are still scheduled for Tuesday. Cleveland’s event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cleveland Town Park, 300 Clement St., Cleveland, while Granite Quarry’s event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Granite Lake Park, located at 500 N. Salisbury Ave., Granite Quarry.
