BOURNE, Mass. — The Harwich Mariners won the Cape Cod Baseball League championship by beating the Bourne Braves two out of three.

Mako, a right-handed pitcher who has transferred from N.C. State to Coastal Carolina, pitched in six games. He was 2-1 despite a 7.30 ERA. Free passes were the issue for him, as he walked 18 in 12 1/3 innings, while striking out 11.
Leffew, a lefty pitcher at Wake Forest, pitched in five games and was 1-3 with a 5.19 ERA. He had 17 strikeouts and 10 walks in 17 1/3 innings.
East Rowan graduate Cameron Padgett, a UNC right-hander, helped Bourne get to the championship series. Padgett pitched in six games with an 0-1 record and a 5.40 ERA. He struck out 17 while walking eight in 16 2/3 innings.
South Rowan grad Kane Kepley, who has transferred from Liberty to UNC for his junior season, hit three homers, drove in 19 runs and batted .244 in the Cape for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks.
He had the game-winning hit in the league all-star game.
Kepley’s thing is on-base percentage and he set Hyannis records with 38 walks and 10 HBPs in 31 games. He had 31 hits, scored 31 runs and had an on-base percentage of .449, one of the best in the league.
He played all three outfield positions and handled 108 catches without an error.
