Singers invited to meet Salisbury-Rowan Choral Society’s new conductor, learn about next concert

SALISBURY — Singers of all voice parts are invited to meet, sing and learn about the concert “Fall into Healing,” on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. at Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 901 S. Church St. in Salisbury. The concert will be performed on Nov. 1 and 2, with regular rehearsals beginning Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.
Meet the newest conductor Emily Copeland, a Lenoir-Rhyne University graduate with a bachelor’s degree music and master’s degree in teaching. She teaches music at Millbridge Elementary School. From the age of 11 she has devoted her life to music education and since graduation she has directed music in congregations, participated in choral societies and taught for nearly a decade. She loves coffee, delicious food, Disney World and swimming.
The event will feature an overview of the concert program, surprises and refreshments. For new singers, contact Copeland at srcs.music.director@gmail.com to schedule a voice placement time. Dues are $30 per semester and scholarships are available. The Salisbury-Rowan Choral Society is supported by The Rowan Arts Council, the North Carolina Arts Council, the First United Church of Christ Foundation, patrons and the audience.
