Project Light is holding the “Anywhere Anyway 5K,” a self-paced 5K fundraiser that allows people who want to help the organization to participate from anywhere.

Registration for the 5K is $25, and the event will run through Aug. 31. Racers are asked to sign up at any YMCA in Rowan County, at Project Light’s office in the West End Plaza or online at Projectlightrowanht.org/5k. Participants then have the option to run or walk 3.1 miles outdoors or on a treadmill, bike 10 miles or swim a mile to complete the event. Finally, they will fill out a completion form and then submit it on the same webpage before receiving their free T-shirt and pet bandana at the West End Plaza office.

The first 75 entrants who join the 5K are entered into a drawing for $100 Walmart gift card a travel mug.
