SPENCER — East Rowan’s jayvee football team won 28-6, against North Rowan on Thursday for the first East victory against the Cavaliers in a decade.
Jaxon Lyons keyed the win for the Mustangs. He had a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown and a kickoff return touchdown.
Julian Cauble had a rushing touchdown.
CJ Macon picked off two passes.
North’s touchdown came on a pass from Shakeel Monroe to Carter Williams.
Monroe and Tyquan McHenry were two-way standouts for the Cavaliers.

KANNAPOLIS — A.L. Brown shut down West Rowan 18-0 on Thursday.
Faison Manning and Dhilyn Hollis led the Wonders’ defensive effort.
Quarterback AJ Settles, running back Lemar Grier and receiver Chavis Ashton were offensive leaders.

MOUNT PLEASANT — Mount Pleasant’s defense bent but didn’t break in a 14-2 win against Carson on Thursday.
Carson was in the red zone three times, but couldn’t score on offense.
Carson’s defense forced two turnovers.
Isaac Rabon, Laz Smith, Colin Masingo and Konnor Karriker had good games for the Cougars.

SALISBURY — Salisbury fell 24-0 to North Davidson on Thursday.
Offensive lineman Brycen Pastrana and Kiyren Brown, a kicker returner and defensive back, stood out for the Hornets in the loss.

Draeton Nance threw for 209 yards and hit Jayce Bentley and Noah Dulin for TDs as Davie topped Mooresville 20-12 on Thursday. Brandon Forrest had a rushing touchdown.
