As per the National Hurricane Center’s 10 am Tuesday update, Gilma has lost momentum and has regressed from a Category 2 hurricane to a Category 1 hurricane, with winds of 75 miles per hour.

Category 1 Hurricane Gilma is 945 miles east of Hilo Hawaii, with maximum sustained wind of 75 mph. It’s moving 13 mph to the west.

“Rapid weakening is expected today, with steady weakening continuing after that.” forecasters wrote. “Gilma is forecast to weaken to a remnant low by Thursday night.”
