Tropical Storm Hone’s path and progress: NHC’s Tuesday, Aug 27 update

According to the National Hurricane Center’s 10 am Tuesday advisory, Tropical Storm Hone is 495 miles west of Honolulu Hawaii and 415 miles west-southwest of Lihue Hawaii, with maximum sustained wind of 50 mph. It’s moving 14 mph to the west.

“… Hone will continue moving away from the main Hawaiian Islands, and pass well north of Johnston Island tonight.” according to analysts. “Gradual weakening is expected during the next couple of days.” They also said “Hone is expected to become a post-tropical low on Thursday, and then dissipate on Friday.”
