Thursday, Aug 29: Latest update on Tropical Depression Gilma from the National Hurricane Center

On Thursday at 10 am, the National Hurricane Center issued an advisory stating that the tropical storm Gilma has weakened into a tropical depression.
Tropical Depression Gilma is 285 miles east of Hilo Hawaii and 480 miles east-southeast of Honolulu Hawaii, with maximum sustained wind of 35 mph. It’s moving 14 mph to the west.
“Gilma is expected to dissipate near Kauai on Saturday.” according to forecasters. “Continued gradual weakening is expected, and Gilma is expected to weaken to a remnant low by tonight.”
