High school girls tennis roundup: West, Salisbury win on Tuesday

MOUNT ULLA — West Rowan rolled 9-0 against Central Cabarrus in Tuesday’s South Piedmont Conference tennis match.

Autumn Yount, Emma Crider, Lucy Moore, Olyvia Brown, Ally Suggs and Laney Moore had the singles sweep. Lucy Moore won the toughest match at No. 3 singles.

Winning doubles teams for the Falcons (5-2, 4-2) were Yount/Crider, Brown/Suggs and the Moore girls.

SALISBURY — Salisbury stayed undefeated in a Central Carolina Conference match on Tuesday against short-handed Lexington.

The Yellow Jackets only brought four girls, so the Hornets (6-0. 4-0) had uncontested walkovers at No. 5 and No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Lucy Barr, Meredith Williams, Addison Griffith and Lola Koontz won the contested matches.

Barr/Williams and Koontz/Anna Kate Goodman were winning doubles teams.

TYRO — West Davidson won 8-1 against North Rowan in a CCC match on Tuesday.

Olivia Neely and Jasmin Espinal-Baquis won 8-5 at No. 1 singles for the Cavaliers.
