RALEIGH — Catawba’s women’s volleyball season got started over the weekend with a tournament at Shaw.

Catawba swept Barton on Friday and dropped a 3-2 match with Mount Olive on Friday. The Indians were swept by Shaw on Saturday.

Junior Kelcie Love (West Rowan) will be a key hitter for the Indians. She had 10 kills in the Barton match and 12 against Mount Olive.

Riley Hill (East Rowan) and Kary Hales (Carson) are two of the key defensive players for the Indians.

Hill had 11 digs and four aces in the Mount Olive match.
