College women’s soccer: Rusher’s goal lifts Catawba to win

SALISBURY — Catawba’s women’s soccer team opened the season with a 3-2 victory on Friday at Frock Field against 15th-ranked Embry-Riddle.
Catawba rallied from a goal down in the final 20 minutes. Lillie Rusher (Salisbury) scored the decisive goal in the 86th minute on a penalty kick.
Kelly Havens and Kylie Martin also scored for Catawba.
Ashley Hughes made four saves.
