KERNERSVILLE — Freshman cross country runner Hope Julian clocked 20:06 and won the Friday Night Lights Festival at Ivey Redmon Park.

Julian, the daughter of South Rowan coach Rebekah Frick Julian, won by 11 seconds with a strong finish. Hope’s brothers Noah and Eli, now a freshman at Liberty University, were frequent champions and runners of the year.

South Rowan’s team did well, finishing eighth in the scoring.

Gracie Hinson (23:09) was 40th. Madalynn Gulledge (23:18) was 43rd. Brinley Patterson (24:21) was 60th. The fifth scorer was Sadie Siscoe, 75th in 25:02.

A.L. Brown’s girls had three runners competing. Jocelyn Salazar was 46th in 23:21. Megan Fongemy was 61st in 24:22. Lizbeth Navarette Guerra (24:46) was 71st.

South Rowan’s boys tied for sixth.

Ethan Overby ran 17:53 for 17th. Freshman Davis Kemp was 41st in 18:45.

Garrison Raper (18:58) was 48th. Peyton Nail (19:27) was 65th. Sam Noe (19:29) was 68th.

Logan Keasler led A.L. Brown to a ninth-place finish.

The sophomore was 26th in 18:20. Hunter Sirmons (18:56) was 51st. Ian Fongemy (19:31) was 71st. Myles Beaver ( 19:37) was 73rd. Johnny Delgado (19:47) was the fifth scorer. He was 86th.
