A Rowan County man was airlifted to an area hospital Sunday night after being bitten in the neck by a copperhead snake, according to officials.

Details at this time are scarce, and the current condition of the 26-year-old victim is not known at this time. The incident happened near Needmore Road in Woodleaf late Sunday.
