Bullet pierces side of house, no injuries

A shot was fired into an occupied residence on Calhoun Street about 2 a.m. on Sept. 9. Police reports say the resident awoke to the sound of the gunshot and went outside to investigate. He saw no one, but found one shell casing outside and a hole where a bullet had passed through his living room wall. No one was injured in the incident, which the resident reported at noon.

Salisbury Police reports

• A theft from a motor vehicle on East Franklin Street reportedly occurred about 1:20 a.m. Sept. 9.

• A larceny from a property on West Innes Street reportedly occurred about 2 a.m. Sept. 9. Total estimated loss was $70.

• Vandalism to a property on Huntington Drive reportedly occurred between 6 p.m. Sept. 8 and 6 a.m. Sept. 9.

• Property damage due to a hit and run on Maupin Avenue reportedly occurred between 2 and 6 p.m. Sept. 5 and was reported Sept. 9.

• An attempt to steal a motor vehicle from a property on Lash Drive reportedly occurred between 7 p.m. Sept.  8 and 9 a.m. Sept. 9.

• Tyler Scott Messick, 27, was arrested Sept. 7 and charged as a fugitive from justice.

• Tameka Dillingham, 32, was arrested Sept. 9 and charged with misdemeanor assault inflicting serious injury.

• Hayden Dale Bratten, 20, was arrested Sept. 9 and charged with breaking and entering into railroad cars.

Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports

• A burglary of a residence on Vince Arden Drive reportedly occurred about 5:36 p.m. Sept. 8.

• A motor vehicle on Sage Way was reportedly tampered with between 1 and 9:10 a.m. Sept. 8.

• Kelly Renea Bates, 40, was arrested Sept. 8 and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
