According to the National Hurricane Center’s 4 pm Thursday advisory, the tropical depression is 800 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, with maximum sustained wind of 35 mph. It’s moving 16 mph to the west-northwest.
“Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression could become a tropical storm tonight or on Friday.” meteorologists observed.
