High school volleyball: Raiders get Thursday win

LANDIS — South Rowan’s volleyball team swept West Cabarrus  25-17, 25-15 and 25-15 on Thursday.

South (9-4) got 11 kills from Meredith Faw, eight from Clancy Street and four each from Meghan Eagle and Danica Krieg in the non-conference match.

Campbell Withers led in digs with 18. Avery Fisher had 13, Eagle nine, Raegan Shell eight and Faw six.

Shell had 15 assists. Eagle had 13.

South stopped a four-game slide with a hard-fought victory against West Rowan on Wednesday and has a chance to put together a winning streak.

South’s jayvees won against West Rowan and West Cabarrus to improve to 7-6.

Olivia Eagle had five kills in the 25-20 and 25-7 win against West Cabarrus, while Nora Wheeler had four.

Makenna Barham had 10 digs. Raegan Glenn had nine.

Aubree Knight had nine assists.
