The National Hurricane Center’s 4 pm Saturday advisory reported that Tropical Storm Gordon is 1275 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, with maximum sustained wind of 45 mph. It’s moving 9 mph to the west.

“Gordon is forecast to weaken tonight and become a tropical depression on Sunday.” according to meteorologists.

YESTERDAY (Friday):

Yesterday, the weather system gained sufficient intensity to be named Gordon when the tropical depression upgraded to a tropical storm with winds of 45 mph.
