WOODLEAF — A Lexington man has been charged in the shooting deaths of two people Saturday morning at a home in Woodleaf, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency services received a 911 call at 8:42 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. The caller, Amanda Burr, told officials she needed them to come to 1212 Old Oak Lane in Woodleaf, because her friend Jonathan Davon Freeman had sent her a photograph of her husband, Bryan Burr, and Jonathan’s wife, Teri Freeman, both of whom appeared to be deceased inside Burr’s home.

When deputies arrived, they found Jonathan Freeman, 44, still on the scene and confirmed that he had allegedly shot and killed both Bryan and Teri.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the property. Officers collected evidence from the scene but also confirmed that Freeman had allegedly confessed to the crimes when contacting people afterward. Armed with evidence and information, they charged Freeman with two counts of murder.

He is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center without bond and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, Sept. 17.

This remains an active investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Ryan Barkley at 704-216-8711.
