Tropical Depression Gordon: Monday, Sep 16 update from the National Hurricane Center on latest developments

As per the National Hurricane Center’s 10 am Monday update, Tropical Depression Gordon is 985 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands, with maximum sustained wind of 35 mph. It’s moving 7 mph to the west.

“A gradual turn toward the west-northwest and northwest at a slower forward speed is expected during the next day or so, followed by a turn toward the north and north-northeast by Wednesday.” forecasters wrote. “Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.”

YESTERDAY (Sunday):

Yesterday, with sustained winds of 35 miles per hour, Gordon was downgraded from a tropical storm to a tropical depression.
