How healthy is your brain? A lot is said about heart health, but what about brain health? On Tuesday, Sept. 24, North Carolina AARP and Rufty-Holmes Senior Center will team up to present a free workshop to learn about the “Six Pillars of Brain Health.”

The workshop will be at the senior center, located at 1120 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Salisbury from 10-11 a.m. and is open to anyone age 55 and up. Anyone interested is asked to register at the center’s front desk or by calling 704-216-7714.

“It’s never too late to focus on your brain health,” said Rebecca Gilbert, state AARP representative for the greater Charlotte area. “In this interactive session, we will explore the six pillars of brain health. We will explore tips for staying socially engaged, ways to continue learning, resources for managing stress, how to stay healthy and fit, improve your sleep and enjoy a brain-healthy diet.”

The workshop leader will be Debra Whiting for N.C. AARP. The Salisbury-Rowan AARP Chapter No. 4314 will assist the senior center and is providing refreshments.
