The Salisbury Symphony String Quartet has completed a tour of all Rowan-Salisbury elementary schools, playing a mini-concert for third and fourth graders.

Providing an opportunity for students to become familiar with violin, viola and cello was the main reason for the tour, as well as informing students about the After School Strings program, a twice-weekly class for ages eight and up. Violinists Amanda Gentile and Katie Miller, violist Kate Middel and cellist Liz Burns demonstrated their individual instruments and performed short selections including excerpts by Antonio Vivaldi and music from Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and “Moana.”

Information about the After School Strings program can be found at the Salisbury Symphony website, www.salisburysymphyony.org.
