Concord man found in Rowan County after Silver Alert issued

CONCORD — A 78-year-old man was safely found in Rowan County after the Concord Police Department issued a Silver Alert asking for assistance in locating him.
The department asked for assistance in locating William Howard Dawson of Concord, who was confused and disoriented when he left an appointment at his doctor’s office on Copperfield Boulevard in Concord on Tuesday morning. He did not return home after the appointment and was subsequently reported missing.
Dawson was last seen in Rowan County, driving a silver Honda CRV with North Carolina license plate FDR-4567. He was wearing an orange shirt, black shorts and brown sandals and is listed as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. He has hazel eyes and gray hair.
Anyone with information on Dawson’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the Concord Police Department at 704-920-5000.
A release from the department stated that Dawson was safely located in Rowan County a few hours after the alert was issued.
